Dear Kalabari Sons and Daughters
We must not forget the stalemate that our people and our land has witnessed in the recent past... with the advent of armed struggle for the actualization of our resources.
What a relief we felt at the amnesty as it presented a window of opportunity for permanent peace to reign in our land. The armed struggle being over, presents us a charge to eke out a civil development of our society with rife moral standards.
The problems confronting our people are not just due to decades of environmental abuse, social and infrastructural neglect with economic underdevelopment. Our young men and women are being stigmatized as "Lazy". This is a social malaise that should not be allowed to thrive... - inspite of the High Drop - Out rates in our schools, Crime rate and Poverty.
It is now on record that while 45% of the people generally in Nigeria live below poverty 70% of our own people especially in the Kalabari kingdom and the Niger delta live below poverty
As we work with our people to raise their quality of life:
We will have a series of meetings and consultations - bringing to the table our LG Chairmen, Niger Delta Affairs Minister, and the Governor of Rivers state.
We will create small cottage business models to hire our people - creating economic empowerment.
Design plan and implementation for oil and gas companies to hire more Kalabairs' especially those who already have the oil industry skills - like welding, NDT .
Give out more scholarships and Equip a school with computers.
Rebrand our youths and our people
Adopt a well organized Kalabari youth organization in River state to assist with the implementation of Board approved decisions.
